In a stunning defeat, the New Orleans Saints defeated the New England Patriots 38-17, allowing the Saints to keep their winning streak when they faced their serious rivals last regular season. New Orleans, 11-0, has not lost a game since the start of the season, a record for a season that is bound by the Colts Indianapolis. This is the first time in NFL history that two teams to keep a record of 11-0 in the same season. Saints quarterback, Drew Brees was the star of game, Brees threw five touchdowns to five different players, ending the game with an impressive record of 371 yards and almost no errors. He was 18 of 13 and finished with a score perfect pass from 158.3. His average 161.1 passing yards per attempt was also a team record. "All that counts for a victory in the stat sheet, but emotionally, the types of wins may mean a little more, "Brees said." Anytime you can win and win that way, strengthening the confidence for you. We were able to achieve something on offense, that tonight was very special. "The New England Patriots had a chance in the first half to dominate the game, a 7-3 lead, but Brees took there: a TD was completed in less than two minutes to take the lead in the game. Tom Brady was not in the best shape, and certainly not one of his best performances of the season. He may be one of the strongest quarterbacks in the NFL, but Monday was not his day. In fact, Brady barely had time to shine; struck the dust when he was intercepted twice in the game and retired in the fourth of the Saints were ahead by three touchdowns. He finished 21 of 36 for 237 yards and made no touchdown passes. The Patriots may have had more time with the ball, but it was easier for the Saints to put their works together and end with a touchdown – Something that in a few minutes of the clock. The Patriots, on the other hand, I could not get their play together, and together with their numerous defensive errors left unable to put much of a fight. Coach Bill Belichick of the Patriots lamented too many mistakes and play defense team. He also noted a lack of concentration, as part of the problem. "We had some blown coverages and took advantage," he said. "There were huge mistakes on our part. You can not make those mistakes against a good team. "This is the second time in weeks that New England took a road loss to an undefeated team. The Saints are trying to reach the 16-0 mark set by the Patriots again in 2007, so far, New England is the only team to maintain that record. Ex-4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry carries the lovelorn torch song “So It Goes” beautifully, while John Cale remains unruffled on the piano-driven lounge cut “Don’t Pretend.” Gano’s songwriting on these particular songs hit to the core of what we’re all afraid to notice: Life sucks sometimes. He’s always been painfully honest, whether he’s been funny or crass about it. The funky “Catch ‘Em in the Act” is classic Gano, with sexy, self-explanatory lyrics of male sexual adventure. Lou Reed’s blues-tinged jams and sleek vocals point a finger at the paternal side of things, but humorously so. More than anything, it seems that Gordon Gano just wants to have fun. He’s obviously had a blast with the Violent Femmes, but takes things in a personal direction on Hitting the Ground. What took him so long? That doesn’t matter.
